August 2024 Update
Attend tomorrow night’s Planning Commissioners Meeting!
We are requesting your physical presence and public comments at tomorrow night’s Douglas County Planning Commission Regular Meeting at 6pm in the Hearing Room at 100 Third Street, Castle Rock. You can find the agenda and details at this link.
The meeting objective for Pomeroy is to gain approval for them to create a Metro District for the Homestead property they now own. They are calling it Arrowhead Colorado Metropolitan District - New Service Plan - Project File: SV2024-002. Pomeroy is asking that Douglas County grant them approval for a Metro District for either residential or commercial development on the Homestead property.
Pomeroy has plotted their ideas to build somewhere between 31 and 37 homes with a mix of condominiums and single-family homes. You can find these drawings in their public filing here which are the exhibits to the Service Plan. Also in these exhibits is their latest drawing for parking spaces should they gain approval to rezone the Homestead to commercial for their Nordic Spa.
You can view all the documents and some public responses on the Douglas County Planning Project website here. In this list is the draft service plan (elements of the Metro District) you can download to read. (Click on the documents tab to find)
What comments can you make at this hearing? You can voice your opinion to Douglas County Planning Commissioners not to grant a Metro District to Pomeroy so they can sell government-like bonds to finance their projects.
If you are not familiar with Metro Districts in Colorado, you can read details about them here.
Should you plan to make a public statement, you will have 3 minutes maximum to speak.
Thank you for your consideration to voice your opposition to this request.
